I create loose, abstracted landscapes which evoke a sense of place - a sense of the sky, land, and water. Dreamlike and atmospheric, soft and strong at the same time.
I also create nonobjective paintings that explore color, depth, and texture (which is not really much different than the landscapes). My mornings begin with mindful meditation, then to the studio to paint. Meditation centers me and I think this practice influences what I paint. Paintings are often born from the proverbial blank canvas or small thumbnail sketches. My preference is to work without an exact plan and see what happens. I think this is the best way for the truth to reveal itself.
