Assaf Frank

Assaf Frank has been interested in photography since he was a young boy but it wasn't until 2002 that he actually bought his own camera. His girlfriend, who later became his wife, saw potential in his images which gave him the confidence to follow his instincts to develop his skills further. Within two months he decided he wanted to become a full-time photographer and invested in top equipment. Assaf Frank then spent the next few years learning his craft alongside a career in IT. By 2008 he was working with some leading brands producing photographs for them. He digitally enhances his photos which gives the final images a greater quality and likes to keep up to date with the latest technology and equipment.

When do you feel your career in the arts truly started?

Around 2010 when I had been working as a photographer full-time for two years is when things really began to take off. By then I had developed my own style and I knew what worked best, although my work is always evolving which is something that I enjoy.

What inspires you today and/or how do you get into your creative zone?

For me it is simple I just need to get out to good locations to start shooting images. Once I am there the images appear before me.

What is your favorite piece you've created so far?

"Midnight Sunrise" a photograph which I took in Norway. It was during the summer when the sun never sets, it is daylight twenty four hours a day. I captured the image as the sun was going down barely touching the horizon before it began rising up again. It was near a remote village in Lofoten, as I walked back to the village I could hear singing like the voices of angels echoing which turned out to be the local choir singing in the church. It was a magical memory.

How would you describe the style of the art you create?

My work is stylish and very commercially appealing to a broad range of customers. I am known for my use of colors in post production.

What do you enjoy most about being an artist?

Freedom of expression and that everyday is different. Traveling to different locations allows me to see beautiful places.

What is your biggest advice for aspiring and uprising artists?

Find your own niche, work hard and stick to the goal.
