Thomas Linker (Born in 1936) is an artist native to eastern Pennsylvania, where he’s widely recognized. Many of his works are images from the counties of Montgomery and Bucks. His deep love of the rural eastern shore and the sea are clearly reflected in his paintings. He feels comfortable painting still lifes in his studio or working on portraits in oils when not observing the great outdoors for new material. A romantic sentiment tempers his realism producing a style of art which is peculiar and particular suited to scenes of rustic houses, sunsets, beaches and rolling hills. Using pallet knife, Linker often works his oils with a free-flowing impressionistic style. He sometimes chooses pastels as an alternate medium. His art develops because he’s open to learning new techniques and styles, and mixed media graphics are a new interest that Linker has developed while experimenting with key elements in his concepts.

Careful observation of his works reveals his close attention to perspective and proportion. His attention to detail is a reflection of a successful career as a project designer, mechanical engineering. However, his first love has always been art. He has won many awards and his work is now in many prestigious collections. Early in his career, Linker was trained on the job as a commercial artist, but he’s basically a self-taught artist. He received some formal training at the Fleisher Memorial School in Philadelphia. During his time at the school, he continued to refine his art and practice and did extremely well as a part-time freelance illustrator for many years.
