Mark Frost is an American artist who was brought up in the small town of LeSueur in the Minnesota River Valley. This agricultural environment is also home to Green Giant, the famous vegetable company. His illustrations are influenced by the agricultural environment of the Midwest. Although many past and present Americana artists have focused their work around the turn of the 20th century, Frost has found his inspiration in the time span of his childhood: the 50’s and the 60’s. The Frost family home was a large 2-story farmhouse at the edge of the town. It was surrounded by bean and corn fields. Frost says that people love Americana because it inspires their affection for a simpler time. And he believes that beyond the horse and buggy era, mid-century America is another period of time that gives people a feeling of nostalgia. Another reason why Frost likes this period is his lifelong love of the automobile and other things that go. He says that if he can give some people a little joy when they recognize a truck their Grandfather drove, the old family car, or their own first car, then he considers his illustration is a success.

Mark Frost graduated from the College of Visual Arts (formerly known as the School of Associated Arts), St. Paul in Minnesota. Frost's creative talents have been applied to a wide variety of products and services, including computer accessories, sales motivation, children's books, toys & games, industrial tools, consumer products, newspapers, and recognition products. His art career spans over 30 years as an Advertising Manager, Art Director, and Illustrator.
