Dee Ann Pederson enjoys sharing her passion through her photographs and leading photographic expeditions across the globe. She’s a wildlife and nature photographer whose respect and awareness for nature began at a young age. It was during a family vacations to visit the natural wonders and national parks that got her hooked to the arts. At the age of 17, she began to cultivate her passion for photography while she was working as an assistant to another photographer. Her wanderlust and abundant energy have led her around the globe in search of the splendors of nature. She feels at home in the heat of the Serengeti as she is in the frosty Arctic; nature offers Dee Ann gifts independent of location or climate. Her images are sold as limited-edition, framed fine art prints through gallery/private shows and the web store called Windows of Nature.
Her pieces of art have been sold for editorial and commercial use and have been licensed for use on clothing. Her clients include British Airways, National Geographic Expeditions, National Geographic Traveler, Holland American Cruise Line, Yale University, as well as travel books and others. She provides financial support to communities/organizations including The Cougar Fund, Conservation International, The David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust (Kenya), East Africa Wild Life Society (Kenya), The Houston Zoo, Jane Goodall Institute, National Audubon Society, The Nature Conservancy, National Wildlife Federation, The Sierra Club, Polar Bears International and African Wildlife Foundation.
