Pete Oxford originally trained as a marine biologist but is now a conservation photographer. He’s represented by Danita Delimont, a Stock Photography that represents over 300 first-rate photographers and several international agencies. In the course of his work, Oxford has received numerous awards including IUCN 'Man in Nature' Photographic Prize, Ecuadorian Photojournalist of the Year, the Ranger Rick Photographer of the Year Award, the IUCN Grant, and in 2010 the Outdoor Photography Magazine recognized him as one of the top forty Most Influential Nature Photographers in the world. Currently Oxford and his wife work as a professional photographic team focusing primarily on indigenous cultures and wildlife. His images have appeared in many leading publications such as National Geographic Magazine.

Today, his works stand out among the works of other artists, and in most cases they are the center of attraction wherever they are hanged or exhibited. Based in Quito, Ecuador, his images are in great demand all over the world. Oxford has participated in many art shows and exhibitions where his art won the hearts of many viewers. He’s among those who founded the International League of Conservation Photographers. In 1987 he also co-founded the Galapagos Naturalist Guide’s Association. Oxford and Bish co-founded and operates the Focus Expeditions. He became a Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society in 1992. Oxford’s ten images have been featured in the BBC Wildlife Photographer of the Year competition. Oxford is among the most active photographer in the history of the BBC Wildlife Photographer of the Year awards.
