Arild Heitmann lives in a small town of Evenskjer in Northern Norway, with his wife and 3 children. His daytime job involves sitting in front of a computer, but, mentally, he’s always out in the wild. Arild Heitmann is a strange 78 model who plays football and has done so his entire life. He’s a Liverpool fan and is proud of it. Heitmann is no fan of philosophical wordiness by photographers. He likes things to be simple. His favorite photographer is Michael Anderson, most definitely. Although these days he’s hugely inspired by the French photographer called Deschaumes Alexandre. He uses Photoshop...he sometimes blends his images manually. Heitmann mostly uses levels to adjust contrast and color. Winter is his favorite time to photograph. He’s currently working on a project involving mountains. It was in 2007 that this photographer got his first DSLR back.

With this Nikon D40 (a cheap piece of equipment), he found his own style in landscape photography. Two years later, he upgraded to a Canon 5D (not the mkII but the classic one). When the d800 was released by Nikon he knew that he would switch....so now he’s using this dynamic range beast together with some excellent Nikkor glass. Since he started out he has been published in postcards, calendars, magazines, and lots of other stuff. He’s featured in Canons corporate calendar for 2012. He’s also featured in the splendid book published in November 2012 called "Northern Lights." Here he’s featured alongside some very talented photographers. Heitmann uses holders and Lucroit filters for his long exposures.
