Born and raised in Bellingham, Washington Julie Peterson can remember her passion for art as early as 7 years of age. She used to sit and draw horses for hours on end. Her medium is in Oils on Hardboard and Canvas. She has managed to explore juried shows as far away as Oklahoma. Julie is actually a self- taught artist and her career as a full time artist began more than 20 years ago, now she can't believe she would want to switch to another career other than being an artist. She now works and lives in Moses Lake, but is planning to move to Wenatchee soon. She paints wildlife, rural and urban landscapes. Julie’s style can be described as traditional realism. And every piece of work has many devoted hours and of layers of paint which gives each piece its rich radiant color. The new endeavors and challenge is what keeps her spirits high.

Julie and her husband Jim have always loved spending their time in Washington, and on the east side. The extra sunshine does wonders for them and the growing vegetables and flowers are a bonus. Her ability to be creative and share what she loves with others is a great honor and gift that makes her very happy. Since moving to the east side, the artist sees the beauty in the new landscapes. She says the skies of the basin are beautiful in the evening and morning. She has just started new series covering the sky landscapes.
