As a child, Anitta Martin lived in Horry County and members of her family were share croppers who worked the cotton with the poorest. She’s always had a love affair with the good looks of the white fields and, as a child, she remembers the sweet music that came from those hot long days and the loveliness of what her grandmother referred to as "colored folks." Anitta took a beginner oil painting class at age 50; and after completing those classes, she has painted more than 400 paintings. She has an interior design background, so her eye for trends and colors has quickly led to her being published by companies that are known internationally including Windsor Vanguard, World Art Group, Steel Creek, among others. Her art has been seen in retail locations including Home Goods and many other locations including home furnishings.
Her work hangs in homes and businesses throughout the world and her original paintings are in several galleries along the coast. Anitta enjoys the challenge of being a live wedding painter and has recently become a very popular artist in this area. Anitta resides in North Myrtle Beach and is a native of South Carolina. She works and lives in a gorgeous floating home resembling a New England cottage always blooming with flowers and complete with window boxes. Anitta She has one daughter and is happy to have many friends and a loving family. When not painting, she’ll be traveling to look for the next subject of her paintings.
