Beverly Factor was born in Boston and lives in Laguna Beach California. Her book Angelee Saves the Sea has won awards 3 times. It is a book that educates children about the ocean through an exciting sea adventure story. She also has a very popular wall calendar UNDER THE SEA which has been in print for more than 20 years. Her award-winning works are widely published in countless calendars, books and magazines and are exhibited in many fine art shows and galleries. Beverly has been interviewed on radio programs, TV and news about her art. She has traveled to all corners of the world taking photographs of the world’s most breathtaking and pristine mysterious creatures below the surface of the ocean and also of coral reefs. She has been a certified Naui dive master for more than 2 decades and has logged more than 5000 dives.
She decided to give up the corporate life and took a chance as an artist – a photographer, to be more precise. Beverly followed her heart and made her dream to photograph exotic undersea life and of traveling the world come true. In her new book she focuses on capturing the abstract side of the sea. She says that these more textural, intimate photographic works explode with visual excitement including color and texture. She concentrates on the sensuality of the sea as her subject matter. She wants her pictures to allure viewers so that the sea captivates them as it captivates her. Currently, Beverly’s library is packed with more than 10,000 images from all over the world.
