How to hang a gallery wall with framed art

How to Hang Your Framed Artwork

All framed art ordered from FulcrumGallery.com comes ready to hang with back-frame wire installed. The wire hanging method helps prevent shifting once the piece is on the wall. Want tips for canvas pieces? Learn how to hang canvas art by clicking here.

What's in the Box?

Your framed artwork arrives ready to hang—no fuss. Heavy-duty picture wire is strung between D-rings with enough slack so the piece hangs securely without the wall hook showing. We add felt pads to the bottom corners to protect your wall from scuffs. The framed piece comes fully assembled with wire installed and ready to display.

What You Will Need

1.   Wall space for framed artwork
2.   Framed art print
3.   Screwdriver or hammer
4.   Nail or wall anchor
5.   Stud finder (optional)
6.   Level

1

Plan placement before you buy when possible. Measure the wall area so you can shop by size and choose a piece that complements the space. Large frames can overwhelm a narrow area; very small frames can get lost on wide walls. A common guideline is to position the artwork so the center sits about 57–60 inches from the floor for comfortable viewing.

You can also locate a stud for extra support. Use a stud finder and fasten your hook or screw into the stud when possible. If a stud is not available, use an appropriate wall anchor rated for the frame weight.

2

Mark the hanging point. Place a nail, screw, or wall anchor at the chosen spot and secure it firmly. For the safest hold, fasten into a stud when possible. If using drywall only, choose a wall anchor designed for the weight of your frame.

3

Hang the frame. With the back facing the wall, bring the frame toward the fastener and place the hanging wire onto the nail, screw, or hook. Make sure the wire is fully seated on the hardware.

4

Level the frame. Hold a level along the top edge of the frame, keeping it flat against the frame and flush to the wall. Adjust the frame left or right until the bubble is centered and the piece is even.

Show it off. Your frame is hung and ready to enjoy. Take a photo of your gallery wall and share it with friends or on social media.
