Trees in winter can run a long gambit of evergreen pine trees that last the year to the sight of trees covered in snow after they have lost their leaves and become barren as the winter marches on.
These images can range from melancholic - the sight of trees standing without their leaves in the middle of a long winter - to beautiful, the sight of a pine forest standing tall after a thick stone fall, to simply awesome; trees, standing in the midst of a blizzard with the snow limiting how far the eye can see.
Photographs of fir trees show off the sight of animals flying through their branches and paintings of trees in winter show railroads running alongside a line of trees bereft of leaves or the sight of small villages in winter and their roads lined with dead trees; but all the while the serene sight of snow falling on the scene stays the melancholic feel and creates something only calming.
These pictures, these paintings and photographs of trees in winter, obviously have a lot of white in them; it's part of being a winter-based picture, and it's important to keep in mind the strong sense of snow apparent in each one when placing them within a home.
The pictures will do well immediately next to pictures that have a similar kind of light or nature; next to the balmy sight of palm trees, trees covered in snow may seem odd; but next to trees in fall or even spring the cycle can look only natural.
