In January 2001, I took my first Wild Apple trip to Paris. I met artist Cheri Blum at the airport. Too early to check into our rooms, we set out on foot with the tip of the Eiffel Tower peaking above the rooftops. Walking there was enough; the lines were long and we didn't need to go up. In fact, all these years later, I still haven't gone up the Eiffel Tower.
I've gone to Paris many times with Wild Apple's co-owner Laurie Chester, and most recently with fellow art director Gretchen Gray-Buchannan. My love of the city keeps growing. I can't stop interpreting Paris into artwork I create.

Le Bon Marche is my favorite, but BHV and Printemps are worth a visit. I never tire of walking the bridges between Ile St-Louis and Ile de la Cite by Notre Dame. The walk along Canal St-Martin is perfect to glimpse the up and coming art scene. Flea markets are plentiful and a must on any Paris visit. You'll have to decide for yourself which are your favorites. That is a secret I have to keep.



	What are my Paris essentials? We always attend the incredible Maison et Objet show which feeds us ideas for months. But in the heart of Paris there are treats around every corner. The cafes are lively, the window shopping is hard to beat, and at art supply shops Sennelier, you can almost imagine ordering your canvas next to Picasso or Manet.

Once Laurie and I thought we should shoot a photographic series of Parisian coffee. We started early near Pont Notre Dame. The coffees arrived complete with paper tubes of sugar and a small Valrhona chocolate on each saucer. Scene styled, we shot the cups and drank the coffee. Next cafe, Espressos. Photo taken, we drank the strong brew. After drinking our third cup of coffee at our next location, we practically levitated to the last cafe where we ordered herbal tea for the last image of the day. Those four images are still in our portfolio years later.
