Marisol Sarrazin (Born in May, 1965) was born in Sainte-Agathe-d es-Monts, in a vast region of mountains and lakes in the Laurentians. She spent her childhood in a neighboring village called Val-David, growing up with a father who was a writer and an illustrator, and a mother who was also a writer and an illustrator. They illustrated children’s books. From her mother came much of the inspiration for her artwork. Marisol studied at Brébeuf College in Montreal, where her talent for art was recognized, and she received two awards. After completion of her studies here, she pursued her training in graphic design in Montreal at the University of Quebec. She’s today an internationally renowned illustrator of children’s books.

Marisol is the artist behind the posters, prints and art used in the Rosalie series, a popular and a best-seller series that has been translated into 8 languages including Greek, Spanish, English, Chinese, Korean, German, Italian, and the Hobbit language. She has illustrated posters, prints and art for over 60 books and has won many awards an award for the best book published in French in Canada - the Mr. Christie Award. She has worked in the arts industry for close to 20 years, and has published three of her own books. The artist now tours libraries and schools across France and in Canada with her posters, prints and art. Since her childhood years, Marisol has been creating a variety of characters, some to illustrate her own stories while others are for authors who lack art materials.
