David Harden seems to enjoy thoughts of the "old days" when things were so much simpler. He loves thinking about the days before computers and cell phones and he tries to convey that in his folk art. He thinks that maybe that can bring comfort to someone when stresses of life seem to be more than they can handle. If he can make at least one person happy, the he believes God's plan for him has succeeded. Harden has never forgotten his roots. Being self-taught and starting a career in folk art at the age of 10, there are so many people he keeps on thanking for making his career possible. However, he attributes everything to God, so in reality and in true honesty, it is God who gets the credit. God gave him a talent and a whole lot of determination to put that talent to use.

His first experience in retail began when he would set displays of his work at craft fairs and garage sales. He would set up his own little table and was always amazed that his art sold so quickly. He knew then that he had to be the luckiest man alive! The retail experience drove him to open his own retail store just 11 years later. Currently, his creations can be viewed at his shoppe, named appropriately "David's." He’s now blessed with the opportunity most artists dream of. His funniest moment was when he received a phone call from a lady in Australia. The lady was so desperate to find a way to carry his folk art. His work has evolved from painting to designing for the large manufacturers in the country.
