Heather Johnston’s ‘painterly’ style results in images that look real just like between photographs and makes fine art look more or less like photography. Her collectible Fine Art canvases reinterpret the classic botanical prints of the 18th Century while her Flora Collection explores the themes and sculptural forms of movement. All her images are for sale as privately commissioned art works or hand-finished prints. Heather studied in London at the Royal College of Art (RCA). Her recent work includes the highly popular Les Fleurs and the Flora collection and Legumes range of Fine Art Canvases. Her work is carried in select galleries and is represented in the Vancouver Art Gallery Sales, the Canada Council Art Bank, and private collections. She has exhibited in both Canada and Europe. It is a collection of flora canvases. Each canvas is a fusion of Heather's photography and painting, and every canvas is subtlety unique. Heather loves flowers because they are used as a means of expressing sympathy or of congratulating, as a gesture of thanks or as a declaration of love. Flowers are often the most direct and eloquent means of communication. He says that the language of flowers is one of myths and symbols that transcend human social boundaries. Her canvases are in limited editions of two hundred and fifty, and each canvas is finished with varnish which stabilizes and filters for protection against ultra violet light. They are easy to hang, are lightweight and are of high quality.
