Because he is self-taught, the artist says, he is less inhibited both technically and emotionally. He says, "I try to rely on my natural artistic talent and intuition. It allows me the freedom to make mistakes. I feel free to do things incorrectly in order to come up with something that works. It's during this discovery phase that new ideas emerge. I find this process very satisfying."
Mason's work has been exhibited in numerous galleries throughout the U.S., from Alabama to Arizona and California to Wisconsin. His work has been sold to both private and corporate collectors on four continents.
