Sarah Gardner is a professional photographer based in the United Kingdom. She’s also a surface designer. She studied photography and art at collage and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Fine Art in 1994 from the Nottingham Trent University. Her early career started in marketing where Sarah was fortunate enough to work with some of the leading Creative agencies in the UK, such as Abbort Meads Vickers AMV and Ogilvy One. In 2003 she took a break from her career to start a family, it was during this time that Sarah returned to her love of art; this time she decided to concentrate on photography. While at home, raising her children, she got busy re-skilling. Sarah substituted film for pixels and the darkroom for her desktop. Working digitally, she began to experiment with images and multiple textures, as well as with new processing ideas.

Relying on her training and skill as a Painter, she soon began to craft her own unique style using textures. This made her work to become recognized so soon for her sophisticated and delicate use of digital textures. As the recognition grew, Sarah’s work caught the attention of American publishers Focal Press. And in 2011 she was commissioned to write a photography how-to book. In this book, she shares her processing insights, photographic working practices and background influences. Since the release of the book in 2012, her work continues to grow in popularity. Her workshops are also very popular due to her relaxed approach to exploring and teaching the creative art of still life photography.
