Anthony Grant is a self-taught artist who began his career at Sotheby’s in 1979 as an intern. He works in both abstract representational and expressionism painting. His studio is located in Lafayette Colorado by appointment only. His art has been featured at a number of galleries on the West Coast and he’s now showing in Boulder County and Denver as well as at the yearly art festivals in the Mountain communities of Colorado. His paintings have also been displayed at the San Diego Art Institute and the San Diego Museum of Art, The Dairy Center for the Arts in Boulder, the La Jolla Museum of Contemporary Art, and at “Art Alive” exhibition.
Grant earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Painting and Art History from the Rhode Island School of Design. In 1983 Grant joined the Contemporary Art department in New York and became Head of the department in ten years later. In 1995, he left the company to become the Director of PaceWildenstein Gallery. For many years Grant had his own business. Together with Los Angeles dealer Marc Selwyn, they founded the Grant Selwyn Fine Art in Manhattan; from 2003 onwards, he had his own gallery called Anthony Grant Inc. Since he began this journey, his focus has been on Minimalism, postwar Abstract Art, Pop Art and Conceptual Art. His network of contacts includes nearly every major buyer of postwar art in North America. His years of private gallery experience afforded him the opportunity to network with important collectors who previously participated only in private sales.
