Carrie Webster works as an IT professional by day, but by night, she has a secret life as an artist. She studied photography, film, drawing and painting while attending art school in Sydney. She has just taken photography seriously in the recent past and she loves it. She has a Cannon 5D Mark II, and Photoshop is her creative tool of choice. All her photographic montages are composed of images that she takes by herself. She layers and manipulates the photographs in Photoshop to create the end results shown on her website. Her favorite lenses are her Canon 17-40mm zoom lens for most of the work she does and her Tamron 90mm Macro lens for close up work.
Carrie can’t ever imagine a world without creativity and she doesn’t feel truly happy unless she’s creating. She creates to be at peace with herself. She creates to feel authentic. She creates for the process of creating and to give. She creates because she is. She creates to untangle her mind. She creates to breathe life into ideas. The creative process she follows is complex in its execution, but often simple in its methodology. Her current work has evolved through many years of experimenting with a multitude of themes, mediums, and tools. She has, at various times over the years, expressed herself through lino prints, photography, drawing, pastels, painting, and digital painting. She doesn’t believe anyone can define creativity through any one medium so, to her, exploration is the key to come up with good images.
