Sue Clyne is a fantasy Artist living in Norwich where she was born. She has always lived close to the beautiful Norfolk countryside, so as youngsters. Together with her friends, they could be found walks and bike rides to see animals. She enjoyed sketching the horses along the way and to this day still enjoys those walks and taking pictures of the horses. From early years Sue has always been imaginative and creative, playing games with her friends, drawing and making things. She would also go to work with her dad and she can remember bribing him into buying her a packet of Bon-Bons, a sketch pad or a drawing book. Her dad knew she would be happy for the rest of the day. At the end of every year she would present her mother with the straight A’s she has achieved in art. She also enjoyed membership of the after school Art club.
Sue has no formal training, she is totally self-taught. Her love for fantasy and fairy art has blossomed since admiring the art by great artists such as the late Susan Seddon Boulet and Brian Froud. The former for her fantasy art which, she feels is very similar to her own style. Sue began painting with watercolors for their light and transparency, but found in quite untamable and unforgiving. She’s now using acrylics on large canvases as the colors are more vibrant and she finds she can better change and move the paint. Sue has exhibited her work at various venues in her area, such as the mind and body fairs and Castlemall.
