Doug Ohman is a popular photographer, speaker, author, and storyteller. He is well known for the Minnesota Byways series. Ohman took his love of photography and passion for history and combined them to become one of the most acclaimed and successful photographers in the upper Midwest. He loved photography at a young age and that’s what has made who is today. His works have been widely published in calendars, books, and in many national and state magazines. Ohman has been working with the Minnesota Historical Society on the popular book series, "Minnesota Byways” over the past seven years. The series include his photographs and texts by some of Minnesota best authors. The series cover the state's vanishing historic sites including courthouses, schoolhouses, churches, barns, libraries, and cabins.

Ohman was born and raised in Anoka, Minnesota. He holds a bachelor’s degree in history and geography from the University of Minnesota. Before he became a full-time photographer, he worked at the Mall of America's Camp Snoopy as the director of operations. Currently, he makes a living through historical and landscape photography. Ohman travels thousands of miles each year to document his subjects. During his travels, he makes regular stops at more than 30 art festivals and art fairs and around the state. His photographs are now much sort after by many private collectors and galleries throughout the world. That’s why many galleries stock his ready to mount framed photographs.
