Wilfrido Limvalencia is a professional artist based in Richmond, BC, Canada. He loves painting scenes in his own unique style which he calls Folk-Realism. In this technique, the art is embellished with sophisticated details but at the same time infused with the charm of 'naïve.' He tries his best to create only very high quality work that is uplifting, delightful, and worthy of display in peoples’ offices or homes. His passion for the arts started at a very young age. He managed the family apparel and textile business for more than 20 years after earning a business degree. He also designed the children's and infant wear lines including the appliqués, original prints, embroideries, and which have been sold in top department stores all over Europe and the United States. Limvalencia o is a self-taught artist whose paintings take those who view them on an inspired journey through folk scenes of landscapes, sea, pets, and people.

He uses dazzling colors to create attractive scenes, sometimes with a sense of hilarity and sometimes with a sense of calmness and tranquility. The artist has a hopeless penchant for tiny details, so he came up with the term folk-realism to capture his intentions and to describe his unique style where he blends realistic elements with the look of naive-art. He has received numerous awards including Maryland Sheep and Wool Festival Catalog Art Competition in 2005 which he took the first place; the Wyoming Stamp Art Competition, where he took the 6th position in the Award of Merit in 2005; the B.C. Surrey Art Council’s 2003 'RIVERS' art competition where he took the first place, and many others.
