Marla Rae is an American fine artist who spent 30 years using her artistic creativity to support any progressive cause. She designed candles, jewelry, wood products and gourmet food items for the gift industry. Marla has also done several graphic design works for individuals and companies through her Plaid Couch Designs business. Besides her great artistic talent, she also built a reputation for consistently promoting art related activities and assisting anyone who needs her support. Marla and her husband Brian have been hosting a biannual arts festival dubbed Barn Festival. Barn Festival was first held in 1994 and has been pulling people from different backgrounds since. It’s through her art that she’s raised her children. Her experience has also helped her sharpen her artistic skills and understanding of color and light.

After bringing up her family and selling her Barn Candle Company, Marla made up her mind to return to her artistic roots. She now focuses solely on creating her own paintings. Within a period of just 2 years, more that 200 of her designs have been published and she continues painting daily to meet customer demands and derive her satisfaction from doing what she loves. Her art pieces have been licensed to companies for making products such as journals, pillows, calendars, and mugs. She opts to work from home and send her finished works to her publisher who then does all the packaging, marketing and selling. Marla creates her artwork on canvas using oil paint as her primary medium.
