Artist Danny Head resides in the mountain lakes region of Northeast Alabama. This is where he was born. He has a secondary residence in Gatlinburg, Tennessee. From an early age, he had a passion for building structures in miniature. He graduated from Auburn University, after which he began a new career based on logistics, his primary studies. Finding a need for "change", he began a new career based on his secondary studies; art. After graduating from Auburn University, he pursued a career in his field of study; logistics. Finding a need for "change", Head began a new career based on art, his secondary studies. Today, he serves as the product designer for and President of an art framing, components company. Starting in late 2008, photography is a relatively new medium for him. In fact, he doesn’t like to consider himself a photographer, but rather a digital artist. Head says that to him the camera’s software are like his brushes while the camera itself is like his sketch pad.

His subjects can vary widely, but perhaps his favorite subjects center around rural America. Through self study, Head developed his own unique modeling skills and placed himself into an elite group of fine-scale modelers. His dioramas and replicas have won top honors in numerous international, national and regional competitions. His work has been recognized on several internet sites and in The Modeler's Annual. His art can be found in many collections throughout the world, and they have even found their way into many homes.
