Teri Martin (Born 1978) is an artist, survivor, and dreamer. She was born in Melrose, Massachusetts, United States of America. She now lives in Salem, Massachusetts, USA and joined Cowbird in 2012. She’s an internationally recognized calligrapher, painter, teacher and designer. She’s also a color enthusiast who’s able to harmoniously combine the glory of color and calligraphy with her power of positive thoughts. Teri’s sensitivity to the line of calligraphy appears naturally in her painted work, with curves and shapes that dance with energy. Within her painting process, she balances the exacting precision of lettering with the flair of the freely drawn brush stroke. As a lettering artist, Teri’s work, heart and life have been an incessant searching into the power of positive thinking. The artist believes that beliefs and big dreams invoke positive actions which lead to positive results. If truth be told, she’s is a living example and loves to share how her dreams came true through her philosophies, beliefs and stories.
Her instinctive approach to painting touches the basic dreams and hopes of her viewers. She was recently published and recognized as one of “The Best” by her International Calligraphic Colleagues. Her work has been licensed in numerous industries from tableware to scrapbook products to fine art. Over the years, her creative expression has taken many forms, but her true love is in lettering and calligraphy. She sees calligraphy as one of the richest art forms. Teri is not limited to any specific medium because today calligraphers work in metal, clay, fabric, sculpture, etc, it combines with all forms of visual art.
