Elizabeth Downing is an award-winning graphic designer who has worked primarily in the textile and fine art worlds for the past 3 decades. Elizabeth is a cofounder of “Poems Art Publishing.” In the course of her work, she has produced many pieces of art which now adorn the walls of many buildings around the world. Elizabeth believes in the impact of art on society and this belief has led her to work with multiple programs advocating art for youth. Elizabeth has been an artist for many years. The artist’s work is unique and is easily recognizable among the works of other artists. She believes that one of the greatest gifts of her life is the fact that she has a talent in the arts. She likes where she lives because it has played a major role in influencing and molding her as an artist.
Whether overseeing product/creative development for a variety of designing carpets, applications, assembling materials for digital/mixed media collages, or learning new computer technology, she continues to enjoy and pursue visual art in all forms. She has a good life and enjoys every bit of it. She’s living a life that’s full of gratitude, determination and exploration. The elements and the challenges in the place where she lives, including isolation has given way to the gifts of creative inspiration, resourceful spirit and hearty resilience.
