Ilona Wellmann (Born 1957) is a Hungarian artist born in East Europe. Since 2001 she has been a fine art photographer with Stock and assignment work. She studied architectural design and worked in this field for a number of years. And now when she looks back, architectural design seemed to be the perfect study because it gave her the ability for recognizing details in the structure of objects, environment and people. Actually she is a self-made photographer. For the past ten years, she has concentrated on Infrared Photography and monochrome Fine Art Photography. Her main subjects are Still Life, Scenic, Photo Art, Floral, and Portrait. Meanwhile she continues to develop a distinctive style which is based on her own concept of creativity. Ilona gets inspiration from the everyday life, and she hopes that her images celebrate the diversity and beauty of nature and humane being. Her best work is already licensed for posters and fine art prints. A large number of her images are licensed for CD and book covers.
She finds taking photos of winter scenes the most exciting. This is because they are perfect for monochrome fine art photography. She likes the solitude and serenity of this season. Currently, Ilona works and lives in Gummersbach, Germany, where her main focus is on creative explorations of digital infrared, monochromatic photography, and digital manipulation. The end result of her efforts looks like the altered reality one would expect to find in a painting and not in a traditional photograph. Ilona’s works have made her the recipient of numerous artistic accolades and awards. They are sold internationally.
