Anita Phillips has loved art since the days of crayons and coloring books, receiving her first set for Christmas at age 5, she has been drawing and painting ever since. Studying art in school, but having no formal training, she started painting professionally about age 25. After studying 4 years in semi-private lessons with a wildlife artist, she set out to develop her own style, painting everything from delicate florals to whimsical children's designs. "Inspired by all of nature and influenced by a lifetime in the Midwest, I love painting the things I have always encountered in my daily life here. My favorite things to paint are in my own backyard. I live outside of St. Louis in the hillsides of rural Missouri with my husband Chuck, who is also my best friend. He is a constant encouragement to me. I thank God for the talent he has given me and the blessings of being able to do something I love so much as a career. If I put a smile on anyone's face with a picture I have painted, then I am blessed."
