This is a breathtaking image taken from the Hubble Space Telescope. The photograph is of a dark night sky, appearing black in the distance but a beautiful mix of dark blues and purples in the forefront. There are three "pillars" of gas that rise from the image, with shades of black, gold and auburn. Glowing from between them is the light purple and bright light of a solitary star, shining in the dark sky. This image, along with many others taken from the Hubble Telescope, give us the opportunity to see and capture the real images of space that we could only previously imagine.
