During that time she won a scholarship to the Kansas City Art Institute, Kansas, MO. This was a Scholastic Award given only to the best artists. Bartek is primarily a self-taught artist. She studied independently with some noted artists that helped to horn her skills. Most recently, she studied with Vladislav Andrejev, the Director of the Prosopon School of Iconography in New York. Bartek attended a residency at the Red Ink Studios in San Jose, California. She recently expanded into the field of fine art and is currently working on a series of large scale landscape paintings in gold leaf and oil on wood and canvas.

Bartek has earned national and international recognition and has accomplished art projects for more than fifty prestigious international clients. In 2006, Bartek received the prestigious commission from the UN for its International Collective Stamp series. Her clients include Barton & Guestier French Winery, American Airlines, Coors Brewery, A T & T, Kraft, Wall Street, and Paramount Pictures. She is particularly interested in symbolism and story-telling, and also in exploring personal expression.
