New York native, Jacqueline Maldonado spent most of her adult career in various facets of the fashion industry. Today, she’s a surface pattern watercolorist and designer. She’s currently residing in Long Island. While working in the fashion industry, she took her time to nurture her artistic talent through developing a discipline in her artistic practice and through higher education in visual art. In 2012, the artist took a leap of faith to pursue her art endeavor on a full-time basis. Jacqueline explores many styles and works in a variety of media. She also explores different modes of artistic expression but she’s best known for her work in watercolor. Her work is featured as home decor products on sites like Wayfair.com, Target, Urban Outfitters, Bed Bath & Beyond, Kohl’s, Joss & Main, Amazon, Gilt.com, One King's Lane, and many others. Further to that, her work has appeared on TV on Home & Garden Television, as well as several features in the Television’s magazine, and many popular lifestyle, decor and art bogs.
Her watercolor abstracts can be understood as emotional landscapes as she expresses them as movement and color, communicating the real meaning of an experience; a memory, music, joy, loss, defeat, uncertainty, longing, love and triumph. Jacqueline is also drawn to pattern and she finds inspiration in the repetition of forces and forms of nature and the world around her. Her aim is to create imaginative work; work that is luminous with color and soulful; work that is poetic and attractive.
