Katie Doucette has always had a passion to create things. Based in Michigan in a small, waterfront town of Saugatuck, Katie took art classes throughout school. She loved everything with artistic flare and could admire the works of other artists. This is where her inspiration came from. She’s also inspired by the many professional artists she interacted with, and some that she never met but had access to their pieces of art. As a child, Katie could spend hours upon hours creating funny cartoon characters. She also used to create holiday art for windows front porches, and could also design greeting cards for family and friends. She had a dream of earning a living through art. Today, she’s a full time artist who is known all over the world. Katie is open to learning and to criticism; that’s why she likes to surround herself with fellow artists from whom she learns a lot.

Her art has been to many exhibitions and shows and have been the center of attraction wherever they are presented. She produces her art in a variety of sizes and finishing options to ensure that the needs of her clients are adequately met. Together with her mother, they opened a handmade gift shop in 2011. That’s when she made the decision to make a career out of her artwork. She works from her studio at her home in Saugatuck, where she lives with her husband and two children. The demand for her art is ever growing she now serves clients from all over the world.
