Art Wolfe (Born 1951) was born in Seattle, Washington into an artistic family. His father was a commercial artist. Wolfe still lives in Seattle to date. Wolfe has captured an estimated 2,000,000 images in total and travels nearly 9 months out of the year leading seminars and photographic tours, photographing for new projects, and giving inspirational presentations to educational, corporate, spiritual and conservation groups. He works with all of the artistic elements . . . light and shadow, line, composition, texture and form, producing visual masterpieces. Wolfe has a multi-faceted photographic mission. By employing journalistic and artistic styles, he’s able to document his subjects and educate his viewers. He’s hailed by Conway William as the most sensitive and prolific recorder of a rapidly disappearing natural world.

William is the former president of the Wildlife Conservation Society. Wolfe bases his unique approach to photography on his training in the arts and his passion for the environment. He aims at winning the support for conservation issues by focusing on what’s beautiful on the Earth. Wolfe graduated in 1975from the University of Washington with Bachelor of Arts degrees in both art education and fine arts. He has been a photographer for more than 50 years, a remarkable testament to his dedication and commitment and to the durability and demand for his pieces of art, his proficiency, and his drive to advocate for the indigenous culture and the environment. During that time Wolfe has worked on every continent, in 100s of locations, and on an astounding array of projects.
