Mary Urban has loved art for as long as she can remember, and she still loves art to date. When Mary isn't creating, she will be found immersed in her library of art history books reading about artists whose works she admires. She loves to almost over-saturate herself with their inspiration. She then closes all the books and works on her own images. Mary grew up in the idyllic countryside of Vermont. Her talent as an artist was noticed when she was very young and she was encouraged by teachers and family to consider taking art as a career. At the age of eighteen, she moved to Boston where she studied graphic design at the Massachusetts College of Art. The encouragements she got from friends and family kept the artistic fire burning in her heart. However, the attraction of her peaceful home country was so strong that she returned and opened an organic tea and coffee house with her brother.

Cafe, tea and coffee culture had always been a great passion to her because tended to bring communities and her fellow artists together for conversations and the discovery of bold ideas. Currently, Mary works in a variety of media and styles from classic to illustrative and more. She works outside surrounded by nature, and the subject matter comes naturally; and she can often be found sitting or standing under a giant maple tree working on her next collection. She loves art and is very grateful to all the people who helped her make a decision to become an artist.
