Britt Hallowell loves working with colors and textures because they allow her to get a perfect balance in her compositions. Her art is a common feature in many galleries and collections throughout the world. The artist uses multiple tools such as palette knives, squeegees, rags and anything else she can lay her hands on to apply the paint. Britt calls the process “controlled chaos” as she’s constantly applying and removing layers in her process of producing art. Her paintings are typically metaphoric in nature with themes such as trees and animals. Her work is organic in nature, reflecting animals, flowers, and trees in a figurative manner, and occasionally taking on a more realistic look. She attempts to create energy in her pieces through splatter, textures or color. Britt creates unique paintings through a merging of traditional and contemporary styles.

She uses a mixture of plasters, paints, oil pastels and charcoal to create heavy textures in each of her compositions. She uses multiple types of plaster in each painting and she layers them over several days. Her art has been featured in restaurants, galleries, advertising campaigns, and private, corporate and personal collections around the world. They can be used to decorate any room and any space; that’s why they can be seen adorning the walls of some of the most prestigious buildings in the world. This award-winning artist’s goal is to evoke positive emotions for the viewer. She learnt art by herself because she never wanted to be restricted or constrained by rules.
