Janet Stever is a life-long illustrator and artist with a long list of credits and commissions, awards and honors. She received her B.F.A. in Illustration from Moore College of Art in Philadelphia, where she graduated as valedictorian of her class and earned the Senior Illustration Award. Janet has had several staff illustration positions and has many years of experience freelancing. Clients over the years to whom she has licensed her art or for whom she has created artwork have included Evergreen Enterprises, The Bradford Exchange, Crystal Art, BonArtique, Dimensions, JCA, Hallmark, Leanin' Tree, Bits & Pieces, PaperKraft, Marian Heath, Cherrydale Farms, Byers' Choice, Reader's Digest, Rodale, Ceaco, Roman, Converting, Design, Conimar, Giftco, Franco, Hoffmaster, Independent Can, and many others.
The interesting but rare staff positions were an exciting challenge for her. Though there may have only been just a single illustrator on staff it was often necessary to make it appear as if the studio used many different illustrators. This made Janet have versatility and a broad imagination and brought her to a level of expertise in a wide variety of techniques, media, and style. Janet attributes her talent to God and knows it is simply and purely a gift. She enjoys a good book and a walk in the woods. And when she's not drawing she enjoys Bible study, ringing in the hand bell choir and singing in her church choir. The artist works almost entirely with non-electronic media. Janet believes the freshness of hand-created art cannot be matched and loves the feel of pulling paint across paper.
