Michael Marcon earned his Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in illustration from the Minneapolis College of Art and Design in Minnesota. Always being self-taught in the fine arts led him to experiment with many techniques, mediums and forms of expression. He now lives in his home town of Altoona, Wisconsin where he focuses on his acrylic landscape paintings.
"I believe that developing my artistic expression as a landscape painter has given me a heightened experience of the visual world. My paintings are created from an individual combination of memory, imagination and observation. I find inspiration in the romance of the past filtered through time and then re-experienced in fragments. It is through light, color, texture and a sense of place that I seek these romantic feelingsd. In the process of doing so, I am always searching for a balance between traditional sentiments and contemporary sensations." -- Michael Marcon
