“Judy and Marge” is a popular image by the iconic artist Lowell Herrero. Painted in the realistic style that he is known for, the image features two heavy set women wading though the water together. The women are wearing bathing suits of gold and yellow, and each is wearing a sun hat as well. The water is up to their knees and they’re holding on to each other, presumably to prevent a fall. With tall gasses in the background and a two-story house in the distant background, the scene appears to be a summer on the coast. Herrero is known for his real, yet sometimes comical, representations of American and it’s people and this image follows suit with that theme.
