Mary Ann June is an American artist who specializes in canvas painting using watercolors. She was born in Weirton, a small town in West Virginia, located along Ohio River. Mary was born at a time and in a locality where the dominant industry was Weirton Steel. It was a company that provided employment to anyone who never minded working for them. Having been brought up in that environment, she could have easily taken a job at the factory, but she chose not to. Instead, Mary chose what she really wanted to do, and that’s painting. So while still in her grade school, she started off making sketches of different objects. It became apparent that Mary would make an impact in the industry when in her junior high she won a poster design contest for "The King and I." Since then, she never looked back on her resolve to continue painting.

Mary ventured into serious design work that saw her design several Christmas art pieces, teddy bears and sign art. Along the way, her sister passed on after a long illness. That was the time she decided to drop her painting brushes completely. It took her a long time before painting. When she finally got married, her husband saw her works and encouraged her to take her painting seriously. Her husband's encouragement made her pick up her brushes once again and she set out to make for her lost time. Mary has since painted several art pieces on a variety of subjects. Her works are exhibited in several galleries globally. She is right where she started; right where she loves and has said she won’t drop the brushes again.
