Ramon Pujol (Born in 1947) was born in Olot, Spain. His work has been collected worldwide and there have been several books published on his life and achievements. He has had an impressive number of exhibits - both one-man and group exhibits. His first show was when he was 18 years old, in 1965, and now has had more than 130 shows in Barcelona, Madrid, Majorca, Valencia, and the United States. The alluring reflections and atmosphere of his works pull the viewer into a tranquil and beautiful world, the world of the artist. Upon the introduction of his original paintings to the international art world, the reception to his work has been outstanding. Pujol began working on art at a tender age. His family recognized his talent as a gifted artist and encouraged him with clear acceptance. From that tender age, his favorite toys were colors and paintbrushes.
Pujol was granted the opportunity to study under Luis Carbonell and later under Barnadas, Collellmir and Gussinye from whom he received masterful teachings. Pujol believes that art is a means through which he connects with his viewers. He believes that it is important for him and the viewer to share a common bond when they are looking at a painting. That’s why he chooses subjects that appeal to the viewers’ hearts and emotions. He admires the styles of many different artists like Gauguin, Toulouse-Lautrec, Cezanne, and especially Manet and Monet. These artists are his great influencers as they made him to change his painting style.
