Leslie Bernsen works on large canvas, painting in acrylics and often incorporates collage into her work. She has been working as a professional artist for many years. She enjoys experimental art, and is constantly developing and expanding her creative vision and style. Although her background is in textile design, she now uses mixed media freely, and is able to change direction in her art, making her extremely versatile. Leslie began a unique collaboration with Connie Tunick in January 1998 while attending a printmaking class at a community college. Each was seeking a unique approach to print-making and each had been in the class for several semesters. Both of them had been working as professional artists for many years. Their collaboration works well because each brings in his talent. Leslie's background is in textile design coupled with Tunick's background in art education has made them to develop an art style that possesses its own unique identity. Tunick works in watermedia and the themes are frequently nature oriented.

The two artists enjoy experimental art and are continually developing and expanding their styles and creative visions. Both Leslie and Tunick use mixed media freely, and are highly versatile. Their collaboration was a learning process, and their efforts have produced pieces of art that are completely different from either artist's individual work. As a result of their enthusiasm they decided to buy a press in July 1998 and open their own studio in Newbury Park, California. This proved that they were both enthusiastic about their collaborative efforts. The art created in the studio is the vision of the two artists; each creates half of every piece.
