Adam Jahiel (Born 1956) is an American photographer who was born in Ann Arbor Michigan. He’s an internationally recognized photographer who lives and works in the American West. One of his current projects is documenting life in the country of Kyrgyzstan. Mostly known for his photography of the American Cowboy, his dynamic and poetic images have been published and exhibited all over the world. His photography has taken him all over the world. In 1996, Jahiel became the first living photographer to have a solo show at the Buffalo Bill Historical Center, in Wyoming. His art are in the collections of the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, the Joslyn Museum in Omaha, the Art Institute of Chicago, the Nevada Art Museum in Reno, as well as numerous private and corporate collections. Jahiel has had a varied professional career. He worked extensively for the motion picture industry, working on projects as varied as HBO comedy specials to Out of Africa.

But, he’s also drawn to adventure projects, most specifically as the photographer for the 1987 attractive French-American Titanic expedition. Jahiel is among the few photographers who possess the sensitivity necessary to record simple details that most photographers usually overlook. His work has appeared in most major United States publications, including National Geographic Society, The New York Times, Newsweek, Time, etc. His work also has appeared in literally dozens of books. His photographs speak with certainty but softly. They touch the viewer by the intriguing blend of gesture, tone, light and expression. Over and over again, his photos have succeeded because they reach to the viewers’ emotions first and then their intellect.
