Michael Neubauer is an award-winning landscape photographer and he been on the cover of several magazines. He has received numerous distinctions, awards and other tokens of honor that he’s truly humbled about. However, he says that doesn’t really tell the story of who he is. Neubauer was born in Chicago, went to college at the Art Institute of Colorado where he graduated with honors. After his graduation, he was mentored by some top notch photographers in Italy and Denver before making his way to Hawaii (Maui) in 2002. Ever since then he has been working tirelessly to get better every day at what he does. Neubauer says he has a taste for 1982 prosciutto crudo and Mouton Rothschild while tap-dancing on the poverty line. In his mind he drives a Tesla Model S but in reality he’s cruising along in an old pickup truck.
He’s someone with a million brilliant ideas that pull him in different direction and he can’t ever seem to focus on just one. He gives everything he has to anything he undertakes, but really only excel at one thing – he’s a really good photographer. Neubauer has awe for the natural world and an affinity for adventure. He feels closest to God when he’s out enjoying God’s natural landscapes. The photographer gets anxious when he sits still for too long and contentment is equal to death in his eyes. He yearns to grow, to learn to be better every day. When his time on earth is done, he wants to be able to feel at peace knowing that he used every ounce of talent and creativity The Lord gave him.
