Jane Ann Butler was born in Devizes, England. She’s an art photographer with a passion for Polaroid, working with large and medium format Polaroid sheet film. Jane’s reputation for her provocative, alluring, sometime sensual portrayal of flowers is growing. She has a series of powerful flower portraits which captivates the viewers’ senses because of the elegance and beauty of their natural form. Her interest in photography came at the age of 10 after her parents gifted her with a Polaroid camera. Photography became fun at an instant. After a career break at the age of 28, she picked up the camera again and made the subject of her work, her surroundings and the details of nature. A self-taught artist, Jane works with medium format cameras, Bronica, Pentax, and 35mm and a twin lens Mamiya. Her specialty is still-life of nature subjects, in particular macro contemporary style, leaves in a close-up, flowers, but also stock images of panoramic stock, landscape, botanical shots, all with a fine art approach.

Not only does she use traditional photography methods, where the special effects are attained using different film types, such as black and white, Scala, and lenses, and Provia color, but she also embraces the modern digital process, in which she uses Photoshop; digital darkroom; where creativity is at her fingertips. She works on location from a naturally lit studio, capturing nature at its best. Her style is fresh and contemporary, making an independent statement with the form and bold colors. Her images have been licensed via a photo library for products such as packaging, prints, advertising on merchandise and retail bags, greeting cards, magazines, fine art for corporate businesses, books, leaflets, etc.
