Carolyn Blish (Born in 1928) is a former television newscaster, actress, and model who began painting in the early 1950s. Her artistic gifts were noticed by her mother who encouraged and supported her. She first began exhibiting her art nationally at the age of 37. Watercolor is her preferred medium because of its spontaneous quality. Her watercolors are featured in her book, Drawing Closer. She is a member of the American Watercolor Society. The most important thing to her is the feeling of her art rather than just technical facility. Everything she does is about all beauty points to God. To her, is like a best friend waiting to be hugged, and is like a love affair, and daily she embraces it with all her energy. She loves the smell of paint, the feel of brush in her hand, and the flow of color.

In the midst of her paints, easel, and brushes, she feels at home exploring the delight of painting. She has an endless fascination with her subjects; the ever-changing rhythms and moods of the children, flowers, and shoreline that flow together - fleeting, soft, and fresh. It is her great joy to share with other people the subjects she loves. It gives her a sense of connection and sharing with others whom she will never have the chance of knowing or meeting. This is why it delights him to make prints of her work available to collectors. Her formal art education consisted of study for two weeks under the tutelage of watercolorist Edgar A. Whitney a watercolorist. She learnt the underlying principles of design and composition in painting.
