Lee Sie was born in Utrecht Netherland but was raised in Northern California. He’s forever fascinated by the variations that nature provides. Simple changes such as seasons and weather can transform a place in ways that our imaginations cannot fathom. Everywhere nature’s lighting and set designers are at work - and he says working with them is her honor and pleasure. He now resides in San Diego, California, and says each place he had lived had a different feel and look; and, in some indescribable way, has influenced his aesthetic. He says our natural world has been serving as the palette for art ever since man began writing, drawing, and sculpting using rocks. Nature is a part of human beings and the way artists see and convey it say as much about the artists as it does the world.
