Craig Trewin Penny was born in Mildura. He showed an interest in drawing and art from a very young age. He used to produce beautiful and attractive pieces of art that stunned many viewers. For this reason, many people encouraged him to consider taking art as a career. He never disappointed because he has created a successful career as a professional artist. His art has been accepted by many Galleries around Singapore, Australia, South East Asia and California, United States of America as well a many private and public collections and is in high demand today. His family moved to the Western District of Victoria in 1970, and his artistic interests and love of art extended into sculpture and ceramics. The artist has constructed several kilns (wood fired) for this purpose. One would say moving to the Western District of Victoria fired his imagination.

He studied art at Ballarat University and specialized in painting and graphic design. These two areas claimed most of his attention and at the same time allowed him to pursue a successful career as an illustrator, and he became a member of the Illustrators Association of Australia, where he participated actively for many years. He has skills in a range of mediums among them computer graphics. However, he’s never lost his love for traditional methods and now specializes in acrylic, watercolor painting and illustration. Penny taught traditional drawing, digital drawing and illustration at both Swinburne and Victoria Universities. His art is in great demand all over the world.
