Luigi Florio was born near Milan in northern Italy in a small village. He’s is a modern figurative painter. He holds a diploma in art from the Art Institute of Cantù. Later on he attended the Libera Art Academy, where studied under the guidance of Cino Balleri, the Italian master. His artistic influences come from the 19th century Italian art, passing up to French Impressionists through the “Macchiaioli” movement. His subjects range from the warm light of coastal Liguria to the northern Italy countryside, to splendid portraits of the most popular Italian cities like Venice, Florence and Rome, which have had extraordinary success worldwide. Many collectors highly price his art due to their quality. His art inspires both the upcoming and established artists. They can be seen adorning many prestigious spaces around the world including galleries, institutions, homes, etc.

Florio strives to keep his art fresh by being open to learning new styles and by travelling and reading widely. His frequently changing style is ultimately exploring abstraction in a new personal form. Over the years he has built a name for himself as one of the best artists internationally. He would like the viewers to bring their own interpretations, impressions or reflections to the painting without being forced there directly. His goal is to communicate the essence of his subjects, but he leaves some of the imagination to the viewer. His works are innovative and evocative, yet beautiful and demonstrate great depth of vision, technique and feeling. His creative paint application rewards the viewers’ with rich textures.
