Vaan Manoukian (born 27th December, 1968) was born in Yerevan, Armenia (USSR). He did his apprenticeship for12 years and also attended two Art Schools for 8 years, and had 3 years of internship in the Museum of Folk Art. Manoukian’s work has been published as greeting cards, as fine art prints, and as posters. His paintings are now much sought after by many private and public galleries and collectors throughout the world. He has participated in 7 solo exhibitions and 11 group exhibitions in Estonia, Russia, Armenia, Italy and the United States. Manoukian likes media exploration and is a keen observer of all aspects of nature. That’s what triggers his originality. He also has a bold and happy personality that helps him to undertake very complex projects. He transmits his feelings through his artwork.

In 1988, the Armenian SSR Government helped him to present his complete second personal exhibition of one hundred paintings to the rescuers who went to help Armenia after the earthquake. His artwork appealed to Pope, John Paul II, who asked his Council to choose one of them for a permanent installation in Vatican Modern Art Museum. The council chose the painting titled 'The Nativity and the Adoration of the Magi'. On Manoukian personally presented the painting to the Pope on February 16, 1994. Manoukian moved to the United States in the same month and has been living and working in Los Angeles. In 2009, he founded Gallery Godo where he is the curator and Artistic Director.
